ARCADIA Ind. – When the IHSAA 3A Sectional 24 bracket narrowed itself to just Yorktown and host Hamilton Heights, few expected a tightly-contested affair.
In fact, at game time, there were less than two rows filled in Yorktown’s student section. The Tigers came into the championship aware that they were playing in their opponent’s gym the night after the Huskies knocked off 23-2 Jay County, yet they were unfazed.
Although the Tigers came up just short of their goal in overtime, falling 41-40, the Tigers played 36 minutes of tenacious basketball.
