YORKTOWN, Ind. — Gehrig Smalstig knows how opposing teams used to view Yorktown.
The senior linebacker sat out almost the entirety of last season after breaking his collarbone during the first game of the year. From the sideline, he watched as Yorktown went 4-5 in the regular season, giving 35 or more points to opposing offenses five times.
Coming into this year, he says he knew that visiting teams saw the Tigers as a soft, pass-first team that only wins the games they're supposed to.
