GARRETT, Ind. — As the Yorktown baseball team retreated to the dugout Saturday night, a bit shell-shocked after surrendering a four-run lead to Jay County, there wasn't a ton of panic. Why would there be?
Yorktown P.J. Fauquher sensed the the Tigers had already put it behind them and were ready to move on, because as he said afterwards, "We've been in a lot of crazy situations this year."
Yorktown's up-and-down season was perfectly encapsulated in two wild games at the Garrett Regional, capped by a 7-6 walk-off victory against Jay County in the championship.
Parker Stinson mashed all day, cranking a home run in the 9-6 win over New Haven in the semifinal earlier Saturday that landed across the street (and was later found in the forest) and two doubles in the nightcap.
