MUNCIE, Ind. — Growing up, Delta's Adam Haynes wanted a way to practice pitching at home.
So he helped put together a Little League mound in his front yard, where he could pitch as much as he wanted. As he aged, he continued pitching on it. He honed his skills, throwing strike after strike.
Hitting that strike zone is what he does best. He did it often in Delta's first game on Saturday, a 8-7 win over Yorktown in the Delaware County tournament semifinal. The Eagles went on to beat Daleville later that night to clinch the title.
