KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Ball State women's tennis team (11-3, 0-1 MAC) opened Mid-American Conference action on the road today at Western Michigan (9-7, 0-1 MAC). The Cardinals unfortunately fell to the Broncos in a 4-3 showdown at West Hills Athletic Club.
WMU opened the match strong by taking the doubles point from the Cardinals. It was only the second time this season that Ball State had lost in doubles action. The Broncos won the first match on court one but BSU evened doubles play winning at the No. 3 spot. Peyton Gollhofer and Isabelle Dohanics would beat WMU's Denise Azcui and Gabrela Slavova, 6-1.
