TOLEDO, Ohio - In a match that went down to the wire on the final court, the Ball State women's tennis team (22-3, 13-1 MAC) suffered a streak-snapping 4-3 loss against Toledo (15-7, 11-3 MAC) Sunday afternoon at the UT Varsity Courts.
It was the first loss for the Cardinals since Jan. 29. Since then, Ball State had won 22 straight matches. The Rockets' victory in the final regular season match also prevented the MAC champion Cardinals from closing out a perfect conference slate.
Still, Ball State had already locked up the league title last weekend, securing the automatic bid to this week's NCAA Tournament.
