LEADERBOARD

RICHMOND, Ky. -- The Ball State women's golf team finished second at Eastern Kentucky's Colonel Classic and placed five golfers among the top 20 individually.

The Cardinals closed the tournament Saturday with a round of 305 to post a 54-hole total of 922 (+58) and emerge from a group of three teams tied for second entering the day.

Ball State finished 10 shots back of tournament champion Eastern Kentucky (912) and 11 shots ahead of third-place Tennessee Tech (933). The Cardinals also defeated fellow Mid-American Conference schools Ohio and Bowling Green.

“At the beginning of the day, there was not much separating second place and sixth,” Ball State coach Katherine Mowat said.
