WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The Ball State women's golf team came within two of the lowest 36-hole mark in program history Monday to grab the lead after the opening day of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate.
The Cardinals lead by six strokes with a two-round total of 17-over par 593 (300-293) on the River Course at Kingsmill Resort. Richmond (+23) is second, followed by Marshall (+25) and host William & Mary (+26) in the 22-team field.
All five Ball State golfers are among the top 40 out of 118 players in the event, led by Allison Lindley and Manon Tounalom in the top 5.
