MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's basketball team (20-7, 12-2 MAC) suffered a 60-54 loss to Kent State (17-10, 9-5 MAC) Saturday afternoon in Worthen Arena.

It was a dog fight in the first two quarters of play. The Cardinals trailed the Golden Flashes after the first stanza by 20-16 and then again at intermission, 35-29.

Ball State struggled the most with rebounding as Kent State outpaced Ball State in that category, 22-13 in the first half. Other than that, the stat sheet was evenly spread out between the two squads. The Cardinals had a hard time getting their well-known offense going in the first 20 minutes of play shooting only 36 percent from the field.
