MUNCIE, Ind. — The time was always going to come eventually, when Caleb Huntley’s career as a running back at Ball State would come to an end.
Huntley was a senior heading into the 2020 season who had, and still does have, aspirations of becoming a professional in the NFL. BSU offensive coordinator Kevin Lynch said Wednesday that Huntley began the season as their starter, and that the plan was to play him unless he was tired or there was maybe a third down situation in which they’d use another running back. Whether it was Will Jones, Tye Evans or Donny Marcus, Lynch said they knew that and their roles.
