WINCHESTER, Ind. — Aubrey Weigand never watched a football game before attending high school.
She's now not only Winchester football's first-ever female kicker, but the freshman went 10-for-10 on extra-point kicks in the the team's 70-0 win over Cambridge City Lincoln on Oct. 8, tying the program record for one game.
"It felt really cool. It was really cool being the first female kicker to be on the team, and especially getting that record, but it's great that all the guys can make touchdowns like that," Weigand said. "We have to have a good line to hold them back from blocking the kick, and our snapper and holder, Nathan Patterson and Connor Shockley, do a really good job.
