MUNCIE, Ind. — Earlier this fall, Oshlynn Brown did something she’d never done before in her time with Ball State’s women’s basketball team.
With last season’s loss in the Mid-American Conference tournament against Eastern Michigan in March still on the senior forward’s mind, Brown and junior forward Blake Smith organized a get-together with their teammates at a teammate’s house. They ordered pizza, sat down and wrote out personal and team goals, and listened to Brown and Smith speak before everyone joined the discussion. They talked not only about their desire to win and capture a MAC title, but the communication, team chemistry, effort in practice and more they’d need to have in order to achieve their goals.
