INDIANAPOLIS -- The 1-mile oval at Phoenix is different from the 2.5-mile oval at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which is different from the 1.5-mile oval at Texas, which is different from … well, you get the idea. No two ovals in the Verizon IndyCar Series are exactly the same.
Still, with the series knocking out its first oval of the year Saturday at Phoenix International Raceway, it’s fair to wonder what, if any, information can be gleaned from the results in relation to this month’s 101st running of the Indianapolis 500.
