PARKER CITY, Ind. — The sun was out, but with 10 minutes remaining in Monroe Central’s football practice Tuesday afternoon, a lightning strike was spotted in the distance.
“Everybody get inside,” coach John Hochstetler yelled across the practice field.
Each player on the Golden Bears roster hustled into their locker room at the south end of the stadium. Less than two minutes later, every one of them had their shoulder pads off and were seated in front of the white board.
It would’ve have been easy to call it a day after being forced inside so close to the end of practice.
