MUNCIE, Ind. — After a forgettable first half Monday, after playing so poorly Ball State coach Brady Sallee would indicate postgame his team upset the basketball gods, the Cardinals shook off the rust from their Christmas hiatus and crushed Division II Urbana.

There they were running the floor in the third quarter, the ball passing in rhythm from junior forward Oshlynn Brown to freshman guard Sydney Freeman to graduate guard Jasmin Samz to sophomore forward Thelma Dis Agustsdottir, who finished the sequence off by nailing a corner 3. There was freshman forward Annie Rauch using her 6-3 frame in the fourth quarter to pull down multiple offensive boards on the same possession before connecting on a short bucket.
