Wes-Del football ready to prove itself in 2020: 'We can be more than what we've shown'

GASTON, Ind. — After a lift and a film session, Eric Harlan emerges from Wes-Del High School with his fellow team captains.

The senior quarterback has the look of a guy who just got out of quarantine: long hair and stubble on his face. But he's focused. So are the three other seniors — Joel Dowling, Anthony Petitte and Nate Steele — who accompany him as they walk out to the practice field.

It's Monday. In four days, Wes-Del football will open up its 2020 campaign at home against Blackford. Normally, the only thing that would stop that from happening is lightning.
