GASTON, Ind. — Wes-Del's players were on a knee in the north end zone awaiting head coach Ryan Cole.
As the first-year head coach walked over to address the team postgame, fireworks shot off behind him at the other end of the field. Unfortunately for the Warriors, the homecoming firework show came after a 42-12 loss against Indianapolis Tindley, a team Wes-Del had beaten in four out of their previous five meetings.
The loss pushes Wes-Del to 0-6. And while this isn't where Cole or his players expected to be coming into the year, there's a reason for optimism in Wes-Del's football program.
