MUNCIE, Ind. — That Mt. Vernon game in September, that’s when Yorktown’s girls soccer team knew how special this 2020 season could be.
Head coach Tim Ashton and seniors Carley Culberson and Elizabeth Reece, they all point to it.
See, the Tigers knew before the season started their roster wasn’t bereft of talent. They could boast of players such as Reece and senior Lea Alexander, both of whom have been consistent goal scorers throughout the year. They could boast of a defense, with a goalie in Culberson, that ended up securing almost 10 shutouts by season’s end for a 13-0-1 team.
