MUNCIE, Ind. — As Kaleb Jenness delivered the final kill to give Ball State a third set victory and sweep over Hawai'i, Worthen Arena exploded.
The Cardinals, ranked No. 15 in the country, had just swept the reigning national champion and No. 1-ranked team in the country 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-19).
For Ball State (4-0) and the season-high 2,003 fans in attendance, it didn’t matter that Hawai’i (4-1) was without four of its starters — Jakob Thelle, Guilherme Voss, Chaz Galloway and Filip Humler — due to injury or health and safety protocols. The team and thousands of people inside Worthen Arena had reason to celebrate.
