NEW CASTLE, Ind. — New Castle football practices are more intense this season because they have to be.
Head coach Kyle York’s team is young. There’s talent. There’s leadership. But many of the Trojans lack much experience, York knows it, and so preseason preparations have been focused on recreating as game-like an atmosphere as possible during practices.
Coaches have manufactured situations. They’ve set the first-team offense and defense against each other in scrimmages more often. They’ve done what they can to help players understand how much more intense the game is and how much faster it’s played.
