AKRON, Ohio - The Ball State women's basketball team (14-1, 3-1 MAC) earned its second-straight road victory in Mid-American Conference action with its 74-61 victory at Akron (6-9, 0-4 MAC) Wednesday night in James A. Rhodes Arena.
Senior forward Moriah Monaco led all scorers with a game-high 23 points. Senior forward Frannie Frazier chipped in 16 points while teammates, junior guards Carmen Grande and Jasmin Samz each added 10 points on the night. The win marked the Cardinals fifth straight over the Zips.
Samz scored six of the Cardinals first 10 points after hitting back-to-back 3-pointers to give Ball State an early 10-4 lead over Akron at the 6:57 mark.
