MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's basketball team along with its staff members helped the city of Kokomo Tuesday, nearly a week after the town was struck by a tornado.
Assistant coach Audrey McDonald-Spencer grew up in Kokomo where she was a four-year letterwinner at Kokomo High School before becoming a Cardinal in 2006. She wanted to help her hometown, so she organized a clean-up through United Way.
"It was a humbling and a truly amazing experience helping people in my hometown that lost all that they had," McDonald-Spencer said. "I am proud of the women's basketball team for helping Kokomo to restore itself back to the town I know and love.
