VILLAGE OF PINEHURST, N.C. -- Johnny Watts finished second and the Ball State men's golf team moved up to fifth Sunday in the final round of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate.
The Cardinals posted the second-lowest round of the day with a 291 to finish with a 54-hole total of 888 (+36) on the No. 8 course at Pinehurst.
Watts led the way with an even-par round of 71, while Ball State also counted a 72 from Keegan McKinney, a 73 from James Blackwell and a 75 (both Michael VanDeventer and Tyler Pearson).
Xavier held on to win the team championship by one stroke with a total of 878 (+26).
