LAPEL, Ind. — Emotional. That doesn’t just describe the way the fans, athletes and coaches felt as the clock hit zero and the buzzers rang, it describes the Selma community after Wapahani boys basketball's 73-50 regional championship win over Carroll (Flora).
Raider fans have seen heartbreak over the last few seasons. The COVID-19 pandemic halted Wapahani’s 2019-20 season after winning the sectional title, the team endured a close regional-semifinal loss to Blackford in 2021, and the it suffered a sectional semifinal loss to Monroe Central just a year ago.
