YORKTOWN, Ind. — Wapahani was put in an unfamiliar position in the Delaware County championship game.
After going up 6-0 on Wes-Del, the Raiders led by just two runs (6-4) by the end of the fifth inning. This season, Wapahani (21-1) has been in only a handful of close contests and half of its games have ended before reaching the seventh inning.
It's a good problem to have, winning a lot of games by a lot of runs, but it was also a good experience to play in a close game with a championship on the line.
