DeKALB, Ill. - - The Ball State women’s volleyball team could not get past a hot Northern Illinois squad, suffering a 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-11) setback to the Mid-American Conference West Division leader Friday night at Victor E. Court.
While the Cardinals (7-12, 3-2 MAC) had won seven of their last nine matches entering Friday’s contest, the Huskies (13-4, 5-0 MAC) were able to extend their winning streak to eight matches with another dominating performance in picking up its third consecutive sweep.
After a rough start which saw Ball State drop the opening set 25-13, the Cardinals took an early 17-12 lead in the second stanza.
