MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State women's volleyball team opened play in the Ball State Active Ankle Challenge with a loss to Northern Iowa, as the Panthers (3-4) pulled away over the final two sets for a 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 25-13, 25-19) victory Friday morning in Worthen Arena.
UNI, which entered the event already with wins over highly-ranked Kentucky and Creighton, hit nearly .390 in both the third and fourth sets to break open a deadlocked match.
Senior outside hitter Ellie Dunn led the Cardinals (4-3) with 14 kills, while redshirt senior middle Meg Starling added 10 and hit for a team-best .
