YORKTOWN, Ind. — This Yorktown football team has been years in the making. It's a veteran group that has gone through some ups and downs to get to a point now where it feels it can compete at a championship level.
The Tigers haven't won a sectional title since 2014 but there are plenty of reasons why head coach Mike Wilhelm has so much confidence in this group and, no, it's not because they're in an arguably easier sectional this season. This year's junior and senior classes are a pair of experienced groups whose consistency year-round has made this one of the program's more anticipated seasons in recent years.
