AL KHOR, Qatar -- The U.S. men will take the point. And the respect.
The Americans outplayed mighty England on Friday, letting the world know that while they might not be contenders for the World Cup, they’re not far off. The 0-0 draw gave them another point, but they must beat Iran in the Group B finale Tuesday in order to advance.
It is the USMNT’s second draw against England at a World Cup, following one in 2010, and improves their all-time record against the Three Lions to 2-8-2.
England hasn’t won a World Cup since 1966, but the Three Lions will always be the USMNT’s measuring stick.
