MUNCIE, Ind. — It’s hard for Timothy Wiseman to not notice them. They’re standing behind the rope as the Ball State golfer walks back and forth from the practice green to the driving range at Shinnecock Hills, site of the 118th U.S. Open Championship. They’re watching his every move, asking for an autograph or a ball or a glove. It’s hard for Wiseman to not notice them because not too long ago, he was one of them.
Just four years ago, Wiseman was the one standing on that side of the rope. The 2014 PGA Championship was at Valhalla in Louisville, about 30 minutes from the Corydon, Ind.
