YORKTOWN, Ind. — There’s picking a doubles pairing that should work given how two individuals play and the chemistry between them, and then there’s picking one that seems destined for a deep postseason run.
Yorktown girls tennis coach Bob Darby embraced the latter this season when he paired Sasha and Samantha Academia together. And the sisters, a sophomore and a junior, respectively, have followed that up with a 14-0 record this year that’s helped them clinch a spot Friday in the state finals with a quarterfinal matchup against a Providence duo that’ll determine who advances to Saturday morning’s semifinal.
