MUNCIE, Ind. — Following Ball State University baseball's successful weekend, pitcher Tyler Schweitzer reaped the rewards.
Schweitzer was named Mid-American Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday. He dominated in a complete-game effort with a career-high 12 strikeouts, improving to a 5-2 after allowing just one run on four hits.
He held Akron on Saturday to a .160 batting average, and Schweitzer now ranks second in the MAC with 11.6 strikeouts per nine innings.

Ball State baseball (21-13, 15-3 MAC) performed well in a four-game series against Akron, winning the first three games in dominant fashion before narrowly losing 4-3 on Sunday.
