MUNCIE, Ind. — Two of Ball State's most recognizable players are leaving the program.

A Ball State source confirmed that Riley Neal and James Gilbert have entered their names in the transfer portal. Because Neal and Gilbert both redshirted in 2017 due to injury, they are expected to be eligible to play right away at an FBS school as a graduate transfer.

Neal is one of Ball State's all-time leading passers, while Gilbert was an All-MAC First Team running back in 2016.

Neal, a 2015 Yorktown graduate finishes his Cardinals career with 32 starts at quarterback, operating as the starter in every game he dressed for since the fourth game of his freshman season.
