MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State baseball team might have lost several key starters from its 2017 team, but head coach Rich Maloney has put together a very strong recruiting class for the upcoming fall. Prep Baseball Report named two of those recruits – Drey Jameson and Kyle Nicolas – the top players in their respective states.
Jameson, hailing from Greenfield, Indiana, went 6-1 on the mound this past season for Greenfield-Central High. The right-handed pitcher threw two no-hitters and finished with 112 strikeouts and a 0.65 ERA. In his final appearance as a Cougar, Jameson tossed seven no-hit, shutout innings in the regional playoffs against eventual Class 4A state champion Cathedral.
