OXFORD, Ohio - - Like the rest of the outdoor sports attempting to compete in the Midwest today, weather was not kind for the Ball State track & field team which turned in six top five finishes and a pair of career-best performances at the weather-shortened Miami Duals Saturday afternoon.
Despite the winds howling at 30 to 40 miles per hour for much of the competition, and snow moving in by the afternoon, the Cardinals battled early for three solid performances in the few field events which were completed.
Senior Marie Lumpkin started the meet strong with a third-place hammer throw of 54.
