MUNCIE, Ind. — There would be no miracle in Muncie.
With four seconds left in the game, Ball State (1-3, 0-1 MAC) had one last chance to try and score its first touchdown of the game against Toledo (2-2, 1-0 MAC) in the Mid-American Conference opener. Several laterals later, the play resulted in a safety and a 22-12 Ball State loss.
The Cardinals have now lost three straight games, including their first conference game.
