MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State (5-6, 3-4 MAC) football lost its third contest in its last four Mid-American Conference games following an 37-17 defeat to Central Michigan (7-4, 5-2 MAC).
Perhaps Central Michigan was enacting some revenge against the Cardinals after Ball State's 45-20 victory in Mt. Pleasant last season. Perhaps the Chippewas came in knowing a win was the only way it would have a chance to win the MAC West and play in Detroit — a dream that became impossible for Ball State last week — and the Cardinals just happened to stand in the way.
