The battle to bring former Ball State football player Wendell Brown home from China rages on

MUNCIE, Ind. — Last Friday brought more disappointment. Antoinette Brown found out there would no verdict in her son’s case. Maybe in June? That’s what she is hearing now, she recently told the Star Press, but she knows not to get her hopes up too much because every time she thinks there will be a verdict, it gets delayed a few more months.

Wendell Brown, a former Ball State football player, has been in a Chinese detention center since September of 2016 after an altercation at a bar. He was there coaching football and teaching, and it was going well until he was arrested for hitting a man.
