MUNCIE, Ind. – Each year the National Collegiate Athletic Association awards up to 174 postgraduate scholarships to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically during their last year of intercollegiate athletic competition. One of those one-time non-renewable $7,500 scholarships was awarded to recent Ball State graduate and swimmer Tanner Barton.
These scholarships are awarded three times a year corresponding with each sport season. Each season there are 29 scholarships available for men and 29 scholarships available for women to use at an accredited graduate institution.
For student-athletes to be eligible, they must be in their final season at an NCAA athletics program or will not be using remaining eligibility; have an overall minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.
