OXFORD, OH — Ball State hit the road Wednesday for a matchup against Mid-American Conference rival Miami (Ohio). The Cardinals entered the contest nearly a year removed from their last, a win in 2019 against the very same RedHawks who welcomed them to Yager Stadium for each side’s 2020 opener. But while BSU entered the game confident, it left with a 38-31 defeat.
The Cardinals led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter and 14-10 at halftime. They watched a 21-10 lead in the third quarter dissipate, allowing 21 unanswered before tying the score at 31-31 late in the fourth quarter.
