MUNCIE, Ind. – After a stellar performance that helped Ball State upset No. 7 Lewis, Matt Szews has been named Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Offensive Player of the Week.
Szews was also recognized by Off the Block as the National Opposite of the Week.
Against Lewis, the Wisconsin native tallied a match high 21 kills while hitting .327. He added an assist, three service aces and eight digs to that total. Two days earlier, Szews put away 14 kills against Loyola along with an assist, an ace, seven digs and a block.
Szews currently leads the MIVA in kills with 298, and is third in Ball State history with 933.
