Suspended in Round Two, Carter Smith Fighting for the Lead at Everett Buick GMC Classic

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Staying hot after firing Ball State's top scorecard at the Cardinals' most recent event in Madison, Wisconsin, Carter Smith torched the 7,115-yard course at Chenal Country Club on Monday to stand one stroke out of first place through 32+ holes at the Everett Buick GMC Classic. Smith shot a 2-under par 70 in the first round, then carded a 6-under through the first 14 holes of round two. Play was suspended due to darkness, and will resume Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. CT.

Smith birdied four holes to counter a pair of bogeys on the first 18 holes.
