LEXINGTON, Ky. - - Ball State track & field sophomore sprinter Peyton Stewart turned in a time of 11.85 to place 36th among 48 of the region's top runners in the 100m dash Thursday evening at the NCAA East Preliminary Championships at the University of Kentucky's Outdoor Track & Field Complex.
The 2017 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Champion in the event, Stewart entered the race as the 42nd seed based on her winning time of 11.55 at the MAC Championships.
Despite the improvement, Stewart's 2017 outdoor season comes to an end as she was not one of the top 24 runners to advance to Friday's 100m dash quarterfinals.
