Jeremy Hazelbaker was running out to his position in center field after the top of the first inning Monday night in El Paso, Texas, when he heard his Memphis Redbirds teammates back in the dugout yelling at him. He turned around to see what the fuss was, at which point he realized they were motioning for him to come back to the dugout.
Upon returning, the former Wapahani and Ball State star found out that the St. Louis Cardinals had just called with some good news: Hazelbaker was a big leaguer once again.
The Cardinals officially recalled Hazelbaker on Tuesday, ending the outfielder’s 32-day stay in the minor leagues.
