YORKTOWN, Ind. — It was quiet on the back patio of the clubhouse at The Player's Club. Silence was broken only by the sound of one worker bringing in golf carts, some muttered conversation and a few birds chirping under the sun.
Nine teams had already finished their round in the Indiana Golf Association's team event qualifier, hopped in their cars and left for the day. Just after 4 p.m., players from the final three teams were wrapping up.
Had this been a sectional — like June 8 was supposed to be before the coronavirus — the back patio would've been bustling with activity.
