CLEVELAND, Ohio- - With league play coming to an end Sunday afternoon, the Ball State softball team learned it will open the 2019 Mid-American Conference Softball Championship as the No. 6 seed and will battle No. 3 seed Ohio in the 6 p.m. game Wednesday night at Firestone Stadium in Akron, Ohio.
The double elimination tournament, which runs from Wednesday May 8 to Saturday May 11, features eight teams vying for the league's automatic berth in the 2019 NCAA Division I Softball Championships. The Cardinals secured the sixth-seed in the event by finishing the regular season with a 9-8 MAC record.
