NASSAU, Bahamas – Carter Smith shot his sixth consecutive round at par or lower, and his career-low 8-under par second round at The Ocean Club Golf Course moved him into fourth place after 36 holes in the White Sands Bahamas Invitational. Smith fired eight birdies on Saturday and led a Ball State (554) contingent that climbed into third place as a team, just six strokes behind tournament leaders Houston (548) and Charleston (549).
Smith (69-64--133) enters Sunday's final round just three strokes off the pace of tournament leader Kieron Van Wyk (130) of Charleston, two behind Hudson Wiebel (131) of Houston and one behind Tim Chan (132) of Eastern Michigan.
