Seven-Run Third Carries Softball to Series Win Over Ohio

MUNCIE, Ind. - - Big innings have played a large part in the Ball State softball team's success this season. Entering Sunday's Mid-American Conference series finale versus Ohio, the Cardinals (25-12, 19-2 MAC) had scored four-or-more runs in an inning 18 times this season.

Ball State used a 19th Sunday to answer a five-run third from the Bobcats (17-18; 13-13 MAC) and finish the weekend with an 11-7 win and a 3-1 series victory.

After falling behind 6-1 in the series finale, thanks to Ohio's five-spot in the third, the Cardinals wasted little time retaliating, posting seven runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the frame to reclaim the lead and ultimately earn the victory.
