SHARPSVILLE — Ally Madden stood motionless at midcourt with both hands on her head. Looking straight up in the air, the sophomore kept saying, "I can't believe we just won."
Madden stuck out, being the tallest player on this young Blue River girls basketball team. Around her were dozens of Blue River players, cheerleaders, students and fans scrambling to take photos and hugging whoever they could. They all seemed to be in the same disbelief as Madden.
On one baseline there was a ladder with someone underneath it holding a pair of scissors, patiently waiting for the Vikings to come and cut down the net after they won their first-ever regional championship.
