'Self-inflicted wounds' sink Ball State in 30-20 loss at IU

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — It was like clockwork.

Just like last week, Ball State turned the ball over on the third play of its first drive at Indiana on Saturday. This time it was a fumble by junior wide receiver Corey Lacanaria.

“Self-inflicted wounds is what it has been,” head coach Mike Neu said, following a 30-20 loss to the Hoosiers. “We’ve shot ourselves in the foot, so we need to make sure we come out, settle in and get off to a good start. Everything will be just fine.

“We’ve got playmakers, we’ll be just fine.
